Re: Stale unleaded fuel

I've about 300 litres of unleaded petrol in the fibreglass tank of my boat that's been inactive for nearly 12 months. I rang supply company tech people and they told me to dump it and wouldn't talk about any additives.
I run the highest level (by your recommendation) of Morey's fuel additive and have found that it seems to work well etc. The 300 litres will have a liberal quantity of your product in it.
What can you recommend? Should I dump the fuel? Do you think it will be ok to run through the motor? Is there an additive that would make everything safe and good?

Hello John, You do not need to dump the fuel. Morey's Upper Cylinder Lubricant contains properties that ensure long life of unleaded petrol.
We regularly longevity test unleaded petrol treated with the recommended treat rate of Morey's Upper Cylinder Lubricant we have experienced good results with fuel that has been in storage for over three years.

I'm pleased that your product has that added advantage. Is there any other additive to the oldish 300 litres that you would recommend an octane booster or the like?
Also, you might be interested to know some of the history of your product relative to its use in my boat.
The boat is now about 12 years old and has two 350ci Chevy block Mercruiser V8 engines in it. I've used Morey's in the recommended dose, or a little more, from day one.
During full services, compression tests have consistently come up to factory specs and the mechanics say that that is quite remarkable! Being a recreational boat, the engines have only done about 500 hrs however the mechanic always remains very impressed and says that he has never seen any other engines that share the same value. Apart from our own progressive attention to maintenance and general level of operational care, we can only put that down to the inclusion of your product in the fuel.
